ATTENTION COVID-19 Update April 30, 2020

The Serving Center facility was closed to the public on March 18th due to COVID19 and is operating with modified reduced hours. For ten weeks, the food pantry was converted to a drive-through distribution and served 13,100 people from 3,500 households. The food distribution is currently operating a curbside pick up on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am 12 pm. Requests for financial assistance are made through the website portal since the offices remain closed. As of 9/3/2020, a total of $1,050,000 has been spent for rent and utilities for COVID19 impacted families. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through the increased caseload due to COVID19.

The Treasures thrift stores reopened with reduced hours and are open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm. The donation receiving area is open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm. We are accepting merchandise and food donations. For furniture pick ups, please call 512-244-2431. The Serving Center will continue to operate with modified reduced hours until further notice.

Thank you for your generous response for plastic bags. We are at capacity at this time.

Financial contributions are needed and would be most appreciated if designated for COVID-19.  Those special funds would only be used for the families impacted by COVID-19.

Since the facility is closed to the public, we have our six staff working plus about 12-15 volunteers.  We’re praying that everyone stays healthy so that the Serving Center can continue to distribute food and operate.

Online Event
Hosted by Terror on Two Jacks and the Round Rock Area Serving Center

October 18th at 2pm – November 1st at 1pm
The only thing scarier than the Hairy Man when he can’t scare trick or treaters is the overall impact on how COVID-19 has affected normal activities. Not only does that include our haunt this year (Boo! who) but also our efforts to support the Round Rock Area Servicing Center (RRASC).
Now more than ever, RRASC needs our support in serving our community! Its time to reverse that trend! The way you can participate virtually is by buying a $5 raffle ticket for one of the great prizes listed here. $5 buys 50lbs worth of food!!!! Think of all the families we can help!

Our goal this year is $10,000 in raffle ticket sales. All proceeds, except for the $0.45 cent transaction fee charged by Stripe, from the raffle will be DOUBLED (thanks to the Dell Community Matching Grant) and go to support the Round Rock Area Serving Center.

This year is a raffle with your choice of any of four prizes for the 2021 season.
Prize 1 – Pick an epitaph for one of our blank tombstones
Prize 2 – Star in our next safety video
Prize 3 – VIP pass for 2021 for you and 9 friends.
Prize 4 – A private party for up to 20 people for 2 hours (no access to house except bathroom)

Thank you for visiting the Round Rock Area Serving Center – Let’s take the next step

What people say about us

“I belong to the Highly Effective Teen program and I always enjoy volunteering at the Serving Center and The Volunteer Center. Our group has volunteered at many events, like Family Volunteer Day – we also help to sort in the food pantry and planted in the community gardens. We have to achieve at least 20 – 40+ hours a year for NHS and school and they have made it fun to give back!”

Hannah - Youth Opportunity Volunteer - The Volunteer Center Highly Effective Teen Program

“They do so much for the local community. I encourage anyone to volunteer and see how great the need is and how grateful those served are to have this organization here in Round Rock. I started with them as a client and received services when I was in need and then wanted to give back. People don’t realize there are people of all ages that are homeless and trying to get back on track. Thank you for your help!”

Patrick – Client & Volunteer

” We love to volunteer together at the Serving Center – keeping the resale shop organized, sorting merchandise for the store and helping in the food pantry and in client services. We have enjoyed and helped with many things over the past 10 years and have been a faithful partner to the Serving Center. We give back because it keeps us young and helps so many, when we were in a time of need – they were here for us! This is a meaningful way to spend our retirement years.”
